Why are the only candidates people seem to be considering ancient? Can we get more 30s and 40s candidates, please?

She's not my first choice, but I'd happily take her over Trump. Actually that's what I said this last election too.

it's the same reason popes are always old. you need lots of experience, and political allies. and when your younger it's harder to get those things

She's a more palatable version of Bernie Sanders. Although she's a far-leftist, her softer image makes her more electable. Unlike Bernie, she has some party loyalty and a reasonable amount of political tact. A long time back, I predicted that she -- not Hillary -- would likely be America's first female president despite lacking Hillary's far more impressive credentials; partly because she actually benefits from having not been in the spotlight as long as Hillary.

Is she qualified to do the job? Probably not. She's held elected office for what, 4 or 5 years now? Prior to that she had a political appointment. However, there aren't *that* many big names in the Democratic Party right now. By default, that bumps her up a few pegs. That said, there's no guarantee she'll even run in 2020. She took a backseat to Bernie and Hillary during the 2016 elections. Given that one or both will run again, it's possible she'll abstain... although she's getting older so she might not have the luxury of waiting.

I also somewhat expect Cory Booker to make a run someday. He's still fairly young (by political standards), charismatic, broadly inoffensive, and can channel the enthusiasm people felt for Obama.

Considering you need to be at least 35 to run for president, that kinda creates a floor. And, since most presidents were either governors, senators, or generals first, that's going to bump up the age as well. As such, 50 is young for a president.

And keep in mind that our YOUNGEST president was 42 (Theodore Roosevelt) and only *two* presidents in the past 50 years have been under the age of 50 when they took office.

I like how with Zues a radical leftist is a Democratic that isn't as corrupt as Hillary Clinton, along with anyone that dares support such a thing.

I like how Ylleow can't spall.

As for Warren, I can't vouch for how corrupt she may or may not be (she hasn't been in government that long, so it'd be impressive if she was substantially corrupt), although she's open about her radicalism. Otherwise I like how you reduce Hillary's entire career to corruption allegations. While I have problems with Hillary, I don't rank corruption that highly compared to overly aggressive foreign policy and inaccessibility.
