First time squatting and deadlifting in over 6 months due to pulling a back muscle. I haven't experienced soreness like this in years.

Here's to hoping I don't reinjure myself. Taking my recovery as slow as shit.

Honestly, I want to stop doing heavy squats and deadlifts. Would rather just do lighter weights and more reps for them

Don't tell anyone but I switched to a BB routine (PHAT) and it's way more fun and rewarding.

I wish I took steroids for super sick gains though.

I did PHUL through most of this year, I liked it.
I recently started doing nsuns 5/3/1, program from the r/fitness. Pretty much 5/3/1 with a lot of volume.

But ya, caring about just strength gains just doesn't really motivate me at all these days. I really want to do more functional/ cool things. Gymnastics training looks really cool and interesting. I feel like I'd probably find it more rewarding

Yes it is, squat weight and reps apply differently to each individual body size and condition. Being able to do any with good form is good.

Really? High weight low reps are where it's at.
I never feel better than after I finish a heavy lift. My whole body feels lighter and I feel like I'm taller and standing up straighter when I'm not.

Really? High weight low reps are where it's at.

High reps for squats and deadlifts kick my ass and leave me panting way more than low reps, like 1-3 reps.

Ya it feels good to be like, "fuck ya I can lift heavy as fuck" but ehh. I want to work on my stamina when it comes to lifting in general.

PHUL is great

Never liked 5/3/1 though, and I gave it a solid year too.

Power lifting to win gave me my best results in terms of strengths, led me to my 1RM's for the big three.

Well keep grinding man, it's only a small injury in the grand scheme of things. I pulled a hamstring in January and am now just getting back to where I was squat and deadlift wise. Keep with it man
