UnfairRepresent 11/07/17 8:47:24 AM #1:	Resident Evil 7: biohazard launched worldwide in late January, quickly becoming a hit among both long-time series fans and franchise newcomers. And less than a year after its release, that initial acclaim is paying off. Capcom reports Resident Evil 7 has sold 4.1 million units since launch between PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. According to Capcom's latest sales numbers, Resident Evil 7 is Capcom's eighth best-selling title. The survival horror title is sandwiched right between Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate at seventh and Monster Hunter 4 at ninth, making it one of Capcom's top 10 games in circulation. In comparison, Resident Evil 7 has sold more copies than Resident Evil 3 Nemesis, which currently sits at 12th with 3.5 million games purchased. Resident Evil 7: biohazard isn't the best-selling Resident Evil game of all-time, however. That distinction currently goes to Resident Evil 5, which rests at 7.2 million units, followed by Resident Evil 6 with 7 million units sold. Both games top Capcom's best-selling titles at first and second place, respectively, with Resident Evil 2 clocking in at fourth place with 4.96 million units. It's unclear for now if Resident Evil 7 will surpass Resident Evil 2 in the coming months ahead. But it could happen by next year. Gematsu reports that Resident Evil 7 gained 600,000 sales since April 2017, and with the holiday season coming up, more units may be sold during the season in the coming months ahead. Glad to see 7 do well though. I can see why RE5 sold so well. It was a great action RE title with a lot of quality and content to it. RE6 likely sold so much because the price drop on it occurred only a few months after launch. It got that bad of a reputation, and still does to this day. It started out selling very strong from what I remember, but quickly steamrolled into a giant clusterfuck when enough people played it.
