It was so boring, so completely incompetent in it's pacing and had the worst acting I've ever seen in a major release by that wooden plank that was the main character. I mean he was terrible. To the point I was distracted by how bad he was in every single scene he was in.

it was average.
the worst thing they constantly did was cutting away from the action.
yes, i know that the cost would have been a lot more. but thats why practical effects are better for these movies. the jp movies didnt shy away from having long fights. as silly as some were.

then theres godzilla final wars, that movie has a lot of action.
i havent seen shin godzilla but from what ive read and seen, its similar to the first godzilla movie, where he appears very little and the everything esle is human drama.

Any emotional investment I had built up in that movie died with that as well. I was deflated and the main character was so goddamn wooden and boring it felt like two movies.
