Speaking of onside kicks, I've had this thought for a while, but is there a reason teams don't try to kick a hard line drive at one of opposing team's front line guys? It feels like you'd have a better chance of success by hoping it bounces off him then the typical "hey let's kick it high in the air where the best receivers are" strategy.

I would guess the problem (although this is the problem with all onside kicks) is that you have no idea what the ball will do after it hits someone. It might just drop dead in front of the guy it hits and your team has no chance to recover.

Bears game was rough to watch. Run D just wasn't there. Missed Trevathan quite a bit today. Trubisky looked fairly decent once they stopped going run run pass every series (too bad they waited until the 4th quarter). Inman looked pretty solid, then dropped a 3rd and 10, where he would've been beyond midfield, had a first down with about 30 seconds left, down by 7. Ugh painful.
