There was a huge pump into BTC before the fork, there was a huge pump into alts after the fork. Things are just correcting like they are suppose. If you bought on the pump when BTC was over $7k then lol.

BTC will get back to $7k and higher naturally a few months from now. Unless you're trying to day trade and flip your coins for a quick profit then don't worry about what the prices are day to day. Just HODL and chill out.

This was the reason I started using bitcoin to buy things online. Credit cards and paypal have so many stupid fees attached to them. There's also many merchants I don't want to give my credit card info to. Bitcoin is fee free and instant.

Bitcoin always shoots up higher than it was after it crashes. Trends aren't irrational speculation.

The cause of this crash is even obvious, people were promised that they'd get double Bitcoin when it forked, they stashed BTC to prepare for that, but now that the fork is canceled everyone's trying to sell off the excess BTC.

The point I'm making is that no one knows which cryptocurrency will live or not. We have no way of knowing if BTC or ETH or any other coin will be around a year from now. You are basing your speculation about BTC/ETH/LTC on absolutely nothing. They have a limited track record, and their only track record resembles a bubble curve.

The technology is useless, and it cannot scale. Before long people will realize it's useless. Probably once the IRS decides to ban it or heavily regulate it.

So given these facts, why do you still think that they're worth holding onto for five years? What is it about the technology that leads you to believe someone should hold money in them for five years?

Those three have strong developers behind them with already laid out plans for scalability, crypto market cap is still laughably small and no where near a bubble, the IRS can't ban crypto no matter how many times you say it will.

I believe in the teams behind these coins, if you don't then that's okay there's no reason to cry about it.

They could shut down exchanges and have strong protocols in place for ensuring that no cash came from crypto exchanges. At that point crypto would still exist for people who want to trade it amongst themselves, but it'd be worthless. The only, ONLY, reason cryptocurrency is worth $$$ right now is because everyone is trying to ride the wave and cash out.

No one is intending to keep their money in crypto longer than they think it'll take to make off like a bandit.

I've already explained my views in detail before. The tl;dr is that everyone is being hustled. The blockchain cannot scale because eventually it will get too big and transactions will take forever. There won't be a solution that preserves this rate of growth. Sorry to burst your bubble but you're putting your money into a scam.
