I don't know what all engineering schools are like, but the one I went to... hoo boy. It was really hard being a liberal at that place. I imagine 70% or more of the student body voted for Trump. I'm glad I didn't attend in the Trump era; I don't think I could've handled it. Though you never know, maybe it's better now that they don't have Obama to constantly bitch about.

A fair assessment, tbh. A lot of that is owed to shifts in faculty, which have let in increasingly leftist and/or radical professors and administrators. The ideological favoritism tends to tenure-track the liberal professors who, in turn, reach positions where they can decide to tenure-track more professors who agree with them or take things a step further.
