Did you support mandatory school uniforms in PUBLIC Schools?

It's true. They say that western countries are all the same with the same values but if you look closely, that's not exactly true...

Take public school uniforms for example which is actually adopted AND mandatory in all westernized countries except the United States and Canada.

Places like the UK, Australia..all of Europe, they all have mandatory uniforms that students must wear.

The key difference between the US and Canada now is that the US is more STRICT in what students can and can't wear.

the US punishes students who break the rules and have a lot more in their rulebook in what kids can or can't wear.

Canada however is more lenient and although some don't approve of low cut outfits for girls, many have eliminated that and allowed kids to wear anything they want within small reason.

Also, students in America can't colour their hair..whereas students in Canada are allowed to.

Do you think public schools should have mandatory uniforms? let's see what people think

Here's an example of what female students in Canada can wear but girls in America CAN'T.

Eh, I kind of disagree. I feel that uniforms help stop bulling, but I think that's just a pipe dream if I'm being honest.

No they don't. This topic is bullshit. Most countries don't have mandatory school uniforms. I have no idea if this is a bait topic or a clueless topic.

A simple Google search proves my point.

As a teacher who works in a school with mandatory uniforms and hair cuts, no I don't support this crap. All girl school and every student has the exact same haircut. Some of the uniforms they have are cute (especially in kindergarten) but I think they should be able to wear whatever they want and style their hair however they want as well.

Sometimes yea. In my grade 1 class I have 3 students who could pass for triplets at a quick glance.

It's also bullshit. Kids will always find a reason to bully. If you make them all wear the same clothes, the bullies will just pick on the victims for the way the uniform fits them.

Let's not even get into the nightmare of forcing transgender kids to wear a uniform that triggers their dysphoria (both how cruel it is and what a media nightmare it would be).

There's also the fact that, from every mandatory uniform school I've ever heard of: you have to buy every component from a specific source. This can royally fuck over poor families who can't afford $25 shirts, $25 pants, $10 socks, and $30 shoes. Nevermind duplicates for different days of the week and multiple kids.

What the fuck are you talking about? I went through public school k-12 and there were plenty of girls in short shorts with multicolored hair. There isn't a national standard for anything in terms of dress code in the US.

Where do you even come from that you would think this? Were you homeschooled?

Yup. Private school I went to freshman year had uniforms and their a/c would break every week so it was hot as shit. So I rolled my sleeves and always got shit for it. And if your shoes werent the newest hot shit theyd talk about that. Dip shits will find anything to pick on.

And fuck school uniforms, senior year I wore sweatpants a good 3 times a week.
