Somebody here used to speak real highly of the game. I don't love it per say, but I like it and it's got real charm.
I immediately want to associate this with Goat Simulator and I Am Bread...so I will: you got ragdoll physics and odd controls to knock crap over. That said, the family story here is simple and worth a bunch of smiles -- this is a welcome change from the narrative equivalent of "lick a moving truck" or "land on a lawnmower and then flip over." The dialogue was perfectly cheesey and planned, right down to Octodad's "lines" -- great job there. Those collectable ties are pretty deeply hidden, or maybe I was getting tired of searching with my I Am Bread-like controls. The chef added just the right amount of urgency as an antagonist. Swimming through space, hell yeah. I liked the movie theater-credits after beating it...time to goof around with the two shorts now I guess. --- Posted using GameFlux ... Copied to Clipboard!

It was me; Octodad: Dadliest Catch is one of my all-time favorite games. It's literally the only game I've written a review of for GameFAQs:
https://www.gamefaqs.com/ps4/718926-octodad-dadliest-catch/reviews/160922 TLDR: I consider Octodad way better than other "ragdoll physics" games. I found that after a while I actually did get pretty good at controlling Octodad than with other ragdoll games (to the point where I could actually speedrun levels pretty quick). But what it really comes down to is that Octodad has so much heart. I can't quite explain why, but there was something really powerful about the simplicity of Octodad's goal to just fit in and have a happy family. It's a very relateable goal that makes it easy to root for Octodad, despite the ridiculous circumstances. And the whole thing is just hilarious. Stacy's comments in particular are really well-written, but everything in that game made me laugh, even Octodad's "dialogue" (*a blub of getting his gameface on*) I've played it like 4 or 5 times now, gotten every tie and trophy, etc. Even if you didn't love it (I know better than to expect anyone to react to it the same way I did) I'm glad you enjoyed it! --- Khal Kirby, warlord of the Super Star Khalasar PSN/Steam: CheddarBBQ https://goo.gl/Diw2hs ... Yeah, definitely the best ragdoll-game.
Just watched an all ties-speedrun...looks so ridiculous at top speeds too. I bet it's easy to lose a good run! Watching Markiplier play the original Octodad now and it looks like I played the right game...! --- Posted using GameFlux Get it now for Android from Google Play! ... Copied to Clipboard!

Yeah the original Octodad was rough. Dadliest Catch is what really made the character who he is
