Because somehow Fifa is more corrupt than the IOC? Maybe you should watch the documentary "Icarus" on Netflix to see the extent of IOC corruption.

i didn't say the IOC isn't corrupt also. i'm just saying your article is about 11 year old viewership statistics portrayed in a way that make no sense in order to make it seem like 20 billion people watched the world cup when there aren't 20 billion people on the planet. they clearly want to make the numbers look huge so they can get more advertisers.

In co ntrast, in 95% of the world, soccer players are gods. Soccer is not a sport, it is the most important thing in the country - it is bigger than religion, politics and pretty much anything else. The majority of the world lives, breathes and sleeps soccer and the World Cup is the pinnacle of Soccer.

also lmao dude put your boner away. jesus.

I really wouldn't trust data from Fifa considering how corrupt their organization is. Reporting cumulative home views is a really stupid way to report data. I don't really care which is more popular but I wouldn't put it past Fifa to pad their numbers to get more advertisers.

Yeah I don't know how it would make sense to show a cumulative viewership of 20 billion.

Every person in the world would have had to watch it nearly three times for that to make sense. What a weird statistic.

It makes perfect sense. As I said, the majority of the world are crazy about soccer. These viewers watch every match of the World Cup because it's the most important thing in their life. They don't just watch one match and then quit like most viewers do with the Olympics.

Don't argue with Jen. She is about as ignorant as they come. It's a well known fact everywhere outside of the USA that the world cup is by far the biggest event around and viewership is nearly if not more than half the population of the world.

Golf is a sport when considering how it is played but apart from that...

If chess is a sport... well, golf is a sport too.

But definitely yes, golf is the most boring sport that I know. Hit a ball and then go after it... eh...
Or maybe poker - watching poker on TV is BOOOOOORING... the spectator knows anyone's hand and thus knows, who is most likely to win... boooooooooooooring...

We're not saying your boner is a lie. We're saying to put it away when we have company.

But when you measure the metrics for game of thrones, you don't say, "Well we had 3 billion viewers for the season"

They talk about the average viewership per episode or timeslot or whatever the fuck. In this case, the only thing you could compare the world cup to is other world cups. The numbers are meaningless outside of that metric. You're comparing apples to penises.

First time missing the biggest event in the world in 60 years.

Complete chaos in the country. Pretty much nothing compares to the sadness in that country right now. ( If you think this is an exaggeration you don't realize how big soccer is in Italy)
