To a degree, yes and no. Depends on the sort of chemistry you mean.
The three main components of a healthy relationship, IMO: - A physical/sexual attraction. It's a main thing that distinguishes friendship from relationship. friend from romantic partner. The emphasis is moreso on "sexual" than physical since something sexually attractive could be embedded more in personality, but it's usually predicated on being physically attractive for most. - A mental connection. This is stuff on the level of stuff like your interests, your goals, your aspirations, what you like and dislike, your ability to hold a decent conversation with them, stuff of that nature. - An emotional connection. Stuff like being able to trust them and rely on them, being able to turn to them when you're feeling bad, the ability to share the good moments with them. Being able to open up your heart to them fully. Trusting them. Loving them. --- Maybe I'll put something here one day. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Anything over that is algoods, but after that point, personality/chemistry scales much more than looks This is the correct post in this thread. Everyone waltzing in to say "oooh it doesn't matter, if you love your girlfriend that's all that counts ^_^ xoxo" are probably dating ugly people. Mind you, that doesn't mean you need to be dating a supermodel, but you should at least experience some blatant physical attraction, if nothing more than to consider how long you'll be with this person. If you think it's for a long time, you're best off with someone you won't suddenly wake up one day and think "...fuck. I am NOT attracted to them." Once you have that base level of physical attractiveness with a boyfriend/girlfriend (read: not gross-looking) then yeah, chemistry is pretty much the top of importance.
