i do think song vs. song, the first game had a few better tracks. in particular, i find the occasional automata song annoying because they go hard on the high pitched childlike voice, and i never had that with the first game. it works incredibly well in some parts, but in the latter parts of the forest kingdom and even early parts of the desert i found the music to be a little grating.

phenomenal soundtrack, still, one of the best three in a year that includes a supergiant, a persona and cuphead, which is ridiculous, but not perfect

I haven't played nearly all the big-game names this year, but Nier wins from what I have played.

Only played Cuphead out of what's mentioned, and it is a great soundtrack but it's so weird to see people band together in agreement on that too. No complaints though!

^ Two versions based on the same classical song and they're great, just so good. Whole soundtrack's based on classical music and they really hit them out of the ballpark with orchestrations and chiptunes.
