Now this one hurts to see. And it's going to be a huge loss to Disney animation. Say what you want about his directing efforts in later years, his role overseeing the DAC helped it immensely; Disney animated movies have been hitting it out of the park.

So nothing specific being said, but given the cultural climate of the day we are assuming he's some kind of bad sex guy, right?

Sources say some women at Pixar knew to turn their heads quickly when encountering him to avoid his kisses. Some used a move they called "the Lasseter" to prevent their boss from putting his hands on their legs.

A longtime insider says he saw a woman seated next to Lasseter in a meeting that occurred more than 15 years ago. "She was bent over and [had her arm] across her thigh," he says. "The best I can describe it is as a defensive posture ... John had his hand on her knee, though, moving around." After that encounter, this person asked the woman about what he had seen. "She said it was unfortunate for her to wear a skirt that day and if she didn't have her hand on her own right leg, his hand would have traveled."

I mean... yikes.

You can make money and still not be creatively bankrupt.

But still I'm pretty shocked at how common this is. I guess I'm just a loser who thinks only weirdos need to be that forward with women to get their point across.

I'm not criticizing Pixar, I'm criticizing the notion that they are in some golden age that is threatened by 1 guy being fired

Except saying, "Look what they've become" is in fact criticism. Implying that they've lost a step because of one or two films is a far cry from saying they've lost a step because they've gone Shymalan.

Yeah he's been executive producer on most Disney and Pixar movies since Princess and the Frog. Even if you don't like the upcoming sequel hell, he was also a big player in everything since Disney's "revival."

Still, it's for the best and I don't really expect the quality to nosedive. Disney should have plenty of talent waiting to step out from under his shadow by now.

There were people saying around the time Brave came out that Pixar is a boy's club, so this isn't terribly surprising bearing that in mind.

Also, why is Wreck It Ralph 2 called Ralph Breaks the Internet, and not Ralph Wrecks the Internet? Ralph wrecks things, he doesn't break them. If he broke things, he'd be called Break It Ralph!
