when its dead, the government won't be able to micromanage the internet and companies can do that instead.

this is a BIG win for consumers.

How is it a win for consumers? ISPs in the past have tried their hardest to screw consumers over. The battle between Netflix and Comcast/AT&T/Verizon is a big example of that.

I don't think everyone against net neutrality is trolling. Maybe we should listen to their perspective.

the only people against it who are not trolling are

1. partisan kool-aid guzzlers
2. telecomms executives and their plutocratic buddies like Ajit Pai.

You can already get an idea of what net neutrality will be like.

Take att for example. They have direct tv. If you have att wireless you can stream direct tv with no data charges to your phone.

Now take this idea and say att finally decides to charge you an additional 5 a month to stream services that aren't direct tv.

Now take Verizon who doesn't own any subsidiary service (that I'm aware of) and now you want to stream direct tv now at home, if you have fios.

Verizon says fuck you att, charges the customer an additional 10 a month to stream it and cuts their bandwidth because they don't play nice.

This is the potential nightmare a consumer will have to deal with if the ISP's want it this way.

this is actually the only honest argument ive heard from people

i've seen multiple people say they'd rather get fucked much harder by corporations than be fucked a little but by the government. which is basically what every trump cultist argument boils down to

Net neutrality is the principle that Internet service providers and governments regulating most of the Internet must treat all data on the Internet the same, and not discriminate or charge differently by user, content, website, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or method of communication.

No one can seem to explain how this is government micromanagement or overreach

But trolling affects nothing but the victims emotional state. And how else does a troll get erect if they can't troll the internet?
Defending the destruction of net neutrality won't facilitate it.

Donald Trump getting elected pretty much proves otherwise.

Net neutrality is actually the opposite of micromanaging.

Real micromanagement will come in the future when the government says "sure you can throttle Johnny's videogame and Suzy's torrent download, but you must not throttle emergency services calls, corporate VPNs, or military/espionage connections."
