Quitting for the night now that Gregg and I just arrived to do one more crime, as promised. I probably can't play tomorrow, so help me avoid the purge monster plzkthx.

I will say I'm now getting to the point that I'm impressed with how long this game is. This is a whole lot of content compared to Lost Constellation and Longest Night, so I can accept those are unfair tol predict this game's length by...but also I'm still surprised. It's more than I expected.

I also feel like this game borders on losing my vague definition of what a video game is in the same way Phoenix Wright nearly does: they are both very much awesome and worth recommending, but let's not act like the games have a lot of particular gameplay mechanics or that they don't focus so much on reading dialogue. There would be a lot of gamers who would play these and wonder when they would actually be "playing the game"...but at least with NitW, I could guide them to Demontower and the triple-jumps they can do nearly anytime!

Speaking of Phoenix, I still gotta get around to Spirit of Justice. I already bought it awhile back, so.....

Oh wow, so many of these dialogue choices are easy and feel like lightweight choices, then Gregg throws on me this question about how to handle Casey's parents.

Aaaaaaaand credits. Wait, did I just see Tim Schafer? The guy from Psychonauts? I didn't care for that game but cool anyway. Ending on the journal is perfect.

Holy moly. This game.

This is the most sentimental I've felt about a game since Undertale. The dialogue's so on-point. I can't describe it better than bratty, but it makes it so easy to enjoy their world as they explore all sorts of emotions with snarky wit and petty trashtalk to carry you through these friendships, mysteries, family arguments, cat-gods...geez.

They nailed small town struggles too. It felt like a combination of two smalls towns I knew growing up. Also, as somebody who moved up-up-up in scope of cities all the way to NYC until 2015 when I moved to my first smaller town, Mae and Possum Springs really captured the feeling of isolation one can feel. There can be a lot of good with moving smaller, certainly, but also when people put higher aspirations on you they have questions when you return and it fucking sucks. This game hits that mark hard and never lets you forget as you're enjoying the game that you're a recovering from a fall from such high expectations.

Loved this. I thought the mine section was a bit too slow and intentionally vague, but that elevator scene was great and I am a big fan of the rest of the game.

I'm sure there's more but I've had to read a lot this game and don't wanna keep typing, so ask me anything.

I assume that's your character rankings? If you decide to do a second go through with Bea's quests I'm sure she'll rise up, but yay Mae and Gregg. Gregg's my fav, Mae's probably 2nd. But there really isn't a single character I dislike at all. All of them are so good.
