linkedin is a cesspool these days, it's like 50% recruiters trying to hit up every warm body they can find to sell them a shitty contract job unrelated to their field, and 50% histrionic sales/marketing guys sharing dumb articles full of platitudes and 1950s dad advice and then patting each other on the back in the comment section.

that being said it is a useful resource for job hunting and keeping the names of people you meet professionally, but the whole social network aspect of linkedin is trash

I actually found my current job via recruiter. But I agree, a majority of the inmail recruiter things I get are from people trying to hire for those weird "staffing agencies" which make no sense to me and honestly sound a bit like a pyramid scheme.

I know they aren't pyramid schemes, but if I'm getting blasted with those messages more than an average-looking woman gets blasted with Chad dick, then there's apparently something wrong with it.
