I bought a few bitcoins back when I made a lot day trading marijuana stocks in 2013 and 2014. Kinda wish I bought more but I'm thinking about selling em now. Or maybe getting some litecoin idk

Stupid question time: I get why Bitcoins have value, but why are there so many other cryptocurrencies? What advantages do they offer that gives them value when they're nowhere near as widespread as BTC?

It seems to be on a crash at this very moment (under 9k on Coinbase, when it was over 11k this morning). Might buy more once this stabilizes.

I tried to buy when Litecoin was under $80, and Coinbase was borked to shit. Reading through the reddit (which was pretty entertaining), it seems this is a common complaint levied against Coinbase and some other exchanges - they'll crash during a dip like this when people want to buy.

If you buy bitcoin, you are basically forced to buy drugs or hire hitmen. That's kind of the unfortunate aspect to it for a regular joe like myself.

You people best remember this the next time you insult me.

I don't do drugs.

This isn't a crash, it's a retrace, and it's a heathy functioning of the market with the recent explosion. It was inevitable (like I mentioned previously it was obviously coming). The upper bounds have been raised yet again and we'll see the market slowly increase back up to the heights achieved yesterday/early this morning and level out there as the new norm. Then we'll bull rush, retrace, rinse, repeat. Don't get scared by the market cycles.

So this is a fair criticism of CB/GDAX, but honestly it probably helps stabilize the market and BTC/ETH. Whenever there is a huge sell off/retrace it often goes offline, yes, but that helps stop the bleeding. Technically it's bullshit but really it just ends up preventing weak baby hands. When it goes up the opportunity to buy is still there at the lower price so not really an issue so long as you can be bothered refreshing every few minutes or so (or if you actually know what you're doing having buy and sell orders in at certain thresholds that will autofill). Really it just stops people from acting impulsively to big market swings.

This is not even remotely close to being true. It is stupidly easy to turn into cash. It literally takes 5 seconds.

Most people just hire hitmen to bring a bag of cash to their house. Pretty easy way to cash out.
