Gun Violence in the United States continue to make headlines and researchers are now working to better understand why WHITE MALES have an unwavering attachment to their firearms...

For many, it boils down to economic insecurity and an analysis from gun owners across all states found that gun ownership acts as a coping mechanism for white men who suffer economic stresses as it guns represesnt a symbol of "freedom, heroism and POWER"

Baylor University found that white men facing financial difficulties are more likely to feel a moral and EMOTIONAL ATTACHMENT to their guns.

They're also people who say violence against the US government is JUSTIFIED...sometimes.

Paul Froese, a PHD Professor said "This speaks to the belief in some "dark state" within the government which needs fighting. What's paradoxical is that white male gun owners see themselves as hyperpatriotic, but they are the first to say 'if the government impedes me, i have the moral and almost patriotic right to fight back'"

Non-White men however don't place much importance on guns and were less likely to approve of violence against the federal government and have developed different coping mechanisms

The study shows simply owning a gun makes a male feel "empowered" by a gun and white males feel like they have more power when yielding one. The study found that they have an emotional and moral connecton to a firearm

White male gun owners who are religious are less likely to feel empowered by guns..because they say GOD empowers them. While non-religious white males feel the most connected to their gun. When they are down economically, they turn to their guns to "heal" them.

Gun owners were more likely to be white, male, married, older and living in a rural setting. They are also politically more conservative, have higher incomes and say they feel "alienated" from society

They also feel the threat of "globalism" and say their guns will keep them safe from that "downfall". White Males are also the MAJORITY of GUN OWNERS in the United States..
