You can spoof a domain name and the fact that there's an employee by that name at the company doesn't mean it's actually the employee contacting you.

Pretty sure they make you verify the company email. However, it could be somebody impersonating a real employee so...

that linkedin page is pretty in depth though and their current job matches up to the email.

if it's a scam, it's probably the most sophisticated one i've ever seen

I'd like to think if it *were* real, Google would know better than to format/word it in such a suspicious way.

I'd recommend not clicking any links or replying.

If you're certain it's real, contact Google via a method not contained in that email.

If you rightclick on the link, chose copy link or whatever it is, then past it in notepad, does the URL look strange?
