Of the weapons I've played around with, I'd say...

Knuckles > Lance > Twin Rings > Aegis > Cannon > Katana > Hammer

Haven't tried the Ball or Axe yet. Or Tora or Vandham.

First two are the most fun. Twin Rings feels like it's basically the same thing as Knuckles, but somehow less fun. Aegis is okay. Cannon's also okay, but kinda on the boring side. Tank weapons just don't seem fun at all really so far.

Goddamn, just had a fight where I started with one volff and ended up killing like 10 or so by the end because every time I got one weak, another one or two just so happened to show up. I mean I know calling for help is something they do, but did there need to be THAT many within range to hear the call? Sheesh.

Sealing Calls is pretty important I think. I had the same problem with those ape things.

So far I haven't actually paid any attention to the seals. I just do whatever combos come up. Of course I'm still pretty limited in what combos I can do at any given point, so I'll probably pay more attention once I can have three Blades at a time.

i got an amethyst chip from somewhere and putting it on pyra gave me an attack boost from 67 to 142. I'm in torigoth in ch2

How do you get the 4th medal? I think its one medal for no hits, one for making through without killing any enemies, one for all treasure? Dont know about the other.

Just started chapter 4 and I'm grinding out Wood Chips from level 37 mobs until I have all my unique Blades outfitted with them.

Also, once I get Zeke in my party, I'm going to stop everything and grind for Cores until I get KOS-MOS.

I hated Tiger! Tiger! at first because I sucked at it. Once I adjusted I became more comfortable and now I love it. The main thing for beginners is to focus on not getting hit and getting through the level. Next priority IMO is killing enemies to make it easier to not get hit. Third priority is collecting chests. You don't want to move down into a chest; let the screen move you down and then move out of the way once you get it.

The game's cheats page says that's a secret 5th medal.

So I just discovered you can quickly cheese early affinity levels for common Blades by putting an item your pouch over and over. No need to wait for the timer to run out. It's like 9 Trust points for every item, so buy the super cheap ones and you can get all your common Blades to level 3 in no time.

Whoa, totally maxing out a common Blade's chart gets you an item that boosts your WP by 1000.

Also wow, just ran into a random boss I wasn't expecting. Was definitely the hardest fight I've had yet. Chapter 3 the level 26 Ludicolo looking monster. Didn't notice it had bonded with a Blade and was confused why the music changed when I attacked it. It took three 3-stage Blade combos and a chain attack and still kept on trucking. I really probably should've looked if it was possible to seal its stench effect, since I think that's what made it so deadly.

I'd ideally only want Healing Blades on Nia to make her Special use more reliable. There are times when she switches to Perun when I really need Dromach's Specials.

Yeah that sounds like a good thing to me. My only rare blade on Nia right now is a water attacker...I wish I had a non-water healer instead.

Oddly enough he seems like a really common "first" rare blade. Two of my friends also started by pulling him, even though I know it's random. So now that I have a rare blade, should I choose a character to bond based on the # of rare blades they have? I've been balancing to make sure they have the same number of blades total but now that rares are on the table I imagine commons matter a good bit less.

Got to Chapter 4 and with the increased roster size, I opened more cores and got Electra on Rex and Finch on Nia.

I want to keep opening stuff on Nia to actually get something that fits her... but I don't want her to end up having ALL the rare Blades... At this rate maybe I'll just have to change Poppi to a Healer. @_@

No Kills is a hidden 5th medal that triples your score.

So far I've managed perfect no kill runs on stage 1, 2, and 3. Ends up with 150-195k points.

Maybe I should've been aiming for that instead of getting the first four medals in stage 1 for the 50k affinity node... That was frustrating. No kills and no damage would be double score and then triple that? I dunno maybe that would be even more frustrating... I just hope that Poppi's other forms don't require a higher score...

So I spent roughly the past three hours farming that one spot in chapter 4 for rare crystals, and I managed to get quite a few rare Blades. In fact, I think I'm down just seven that aren't gotten via sidequests or main story.

Just not KOS-MOS.

Apparently it's certain sidequests (not "Quests" that are logged and rewarded, but the little side things marked with trophy icons, like feeding the armu).

But not all of them. Feeding the baby armu, giving the fishing boy in Fonsa Myma a coral nopon chess set (specifically the coral one), and giving a gold cylinder to someone on a rooftop at night in Mor Ardain seems to be the quickest way that anyone has found so far. So middle of Chapter 4 to unlock.

Oh right and the corol chess set requires you to complete the Argentum merc mission with the coral contract reward.

End of chapter 3 was crazy. Like a 30 minute cutscene.

There's another one in the Indoline Praetorium or whatever it's called where you have to choose to gently toss 500 gold off a rooftop or something. I would certainly hope there's more chances beyond that too, but I dunno.

Make sure you're overkilling the krabbles. That's a guaranteed rare core if you get over 200%.
