Post an article or you're full of it.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/11/28/upshot/what-the-tax-bill-would-look-like-for-25000-middle-class-families.html

A couple of things should jump out right away. First, there are more dots on the right side of the chart than the left more households would get a tax cut than a tax increase. (The chart represents the impact in 2018; the situation looks considerably different in 2027, after many provisions of the bill are set to expire.)
...
Take these findings with a grain of salt. The tax bill remains a work in progress, and some details arent yet clear. Our analysis doesnt try to account for the impact the bill would have on the economy, for good or ill. (In tax-wonk terms, ours is a static analysis rather than a dynamic one.) Nor does it account for any spending cuts that Congress might adopt now or in the future to pay for these tax cuts. (The Congressional Budget Office estimates that under congressional budgetary rules, the tax plan would force deep cuts to Medicare spending over the next decade.)

No you are just ignoring everything that doesn't fit what you have already decided is true. Basically instead of trying to listen for facts you've gone with feelings. You feel like tax cuts will give everyone more money, but pretty much all the analysis say that the middle class will either see no changes or increases to their taxes.

We're not silent, you dolt. A number of us have confirmed we'll either be saving nothing or even paying MORE if this passes. Considering the sheer number of college kids on CE, this is the norm here. Most people either don't make enough to pay in taxes OR they've graduated and their income is high enough they're getting fucked by this. CE is largely middle class

Because my question is a very simple one. Are you saving money or not? If so, are you going to give away the money you save because you don't support the bill?

If you want to jump through hoops to try and rationalize that you won't be saving money (hard to determine---years away)---then by all means, go ahead and pretend you aren't saving anything at all.

If you can only make your 'simple' point by ignoring details and larger context, things that will affect the execution of this plan, then your point isn't very useful is it? And Rhetoric 101, in not contesting those details you're conceding to them. I don't understand what it is you think you're winning here.

No one is answering the question, except for one user that acknowledges he'll be saving money. Of course he's bitter and wants to take a jab at me, though. Whatever.

This wasn't meant to be a topic debating the bill's effects on some grandiose long time period, of which during, many things can happen and change.

Given the responses, though, I'll just assume some of the people ITT will gladly take and spend (or save) the money-- all while denying they saved anything.

*until ten years is up, then you're screwed.

Basically, this is just the republicans' way of playing the long game. They toss people a bone with these tax cuts and then 10 years from now they'll come back to collect the bone along with interest on it. I guess some people are just too dimwitted to realize it.

But I guess if you plan to die within the next 10 years things are looking good for you. :v

If your AGI is $20K then you get the higher standard deduction of $12K and you basically pay about $800 in tax.

Current plan would get you at like $1500 in tax from my rough calculations without including the student loan interest deduction.
