That I believe in Goddess instead of "God".

Let me explain. I'm friends with this strict Christian person who takes his religion seriously. He refuses to be friends with atheists and does not take too kindly towards those of a different religion than the one he has; Christianity. Specifically, he is a Roman Catholic.

I'm friends with him, problem is, he wants me to join his church. He says I have to convert next year or he will seriously consider not being my friend anymore. I don't want to become a member of his church because I believe in Goddess. That is to say, I believe that the creator of the universe is female.

If he knew this he would be very angry at me. I don't want to lose his friendship, but nor do I want to be punished by him...like not being allowed gaming for a while (something he's done to me in the past).

If I lose him as a friend I will practically have no friends and since I am out of college I doubt i will be able to find new friends. It's hard when you are in your 30s and to make new friends without going to local bars.

But I feel the need to tell him the truth. So what should I do?

It's a long story but to make a long story short he made it so I couldn't play some of my games online I had to play offline for a couple weeks. This involved my WiFi router which he gave back a few weeks later.

Becoming Catholic for a dude friendship? Lol. Thats a pretty time consuming process. Only do it if youre sincere. Only other reason would be marriage.

And I dont understand how this guy has so much power over you. Youre not telling the whole story.

I don't want to. It's just if I don't I'm going to lose one of my few remaining friendships.

Assuming this is serious, hes a shit friend and youre literally better off friendless than with someone like that in your life, and with power no less.

I see your copypasta and raise you...

"(Edit: possible spoilers for Cuphead? for late game? I don't normally post on topicality boards so I don't know what constitutes spoiler warning necessity per se)

Spent probably like 2 weeks now stuck at this guy. So much to figure out. Learning all the minibosses... Mastering the die parry timing... getting practice in on the card waves themselves... It has been so discouraging. I can't even imagine how many times I've failed, between dying, screwing up my die roll attempts and getting bad extra health set ups. Even got so mad at the game that I was drunkenly yelling at it and got a text from my landlord (lives in the apt. next to mine) "you okay over there?"

The game updated tonight and I had actually heard about some of the bug fixes. Wasn't pleased with charge nerf, but decided I was bold enough to swap out smoke bomb for extra 2 health. First run was a failure. 2nd run looked to be one too, but inexplicably, King Dice froze when he went to do a card wave. He just chilled there walking his hand in place, but no cards came out and he was stuck like that. I'm all "dude... game froze? What's going on here?" I thought maybe a glitch, maybe just lag and I'd get an army of superfast cards and instant death when my slow ass computer caught up... Then, suddenly knock out. wtf? That really happened? O_O. I mean I'm glad to finally have beat him, but wtf that was not the win I was looking for (also I don't think I deserved the A- I got >_>). Considering this happened right after the game updated, I'm wondering if I got a cheap victory from a bug that occurred in a patch, and that I might be reading "fixed a bug where King Dice freezes and players were getting illegitimate victories on him" in a later patch :/

Oh well, time to try my hand at the devil, who had some glitches of his own that have been just fixed so maybe that will cancel out my victory that seemed to cheap to be true :P"

Oh yeah, it's unnecessary. I'm just saying it is a plausible reason for some.

Assuming the foundation of which your relationship may be based on, most sucessful marriages I've seen involved one or more spouse having to convert.
