I quit ps4g after 50 hours and I just completed the 2nd dungeon in ps5 after 25 hours.

I can't remember how long it took me to be Persona 3, but Persona 4 took about 70 hours, and Persona 5 took about 120.

P4G is totally worth playing through to the end, even if it is absurdly long.

P5 is actually shorter than P4G by a decent margin, I think, mostly because P4G adds about an additional 10-15 hours of story after the December dungeon. Assuming you're going for both the true and Golden endings.

what type of game does p4g become? does it eventually become non story oriented?

Pretty much exactly what I did. Played 4 till the second to the last dungeon and then just moved on. Really hated the RPG elements but stuck through it.

With 5, I was in freaking love with it, but this time I simply couldn't take the RPG stuff and just quit somewhere around the 2nd dungeon.

What do you mean? P4's story is pretty straightforward and it never strays from that. Sometimes it actually feels like the story is secondary in favor of a lot of character-driven anime-tropey moments (which I never had a problem with, and is a big part of the reason I became really attached to the characters by the end). There's a *lot* of "filler" scenes in the game.

well what i mean is from what ive played (like an hour of in game time total) it seems to be like a lot of cutscenes and stuff happening. does it stray from that?

Well, there's 18 hours of cutscenes in total in the PS2 version alone, so...Golden probably has about 24 hours or so of cutscenes.

But the first 2-3 hours of the game have a longer stretch of cutscenes than 90% of the rest of the game. Once you get to the first dungeon the game opens up a lot more.

the rest of the game is still fairly cutscene heavy with about 1-2 hours of cutscenes per 10 hours of gameplay, very roughly

Is it? I completed 2 straight playthroughs of Persona 4 Golden for the platinum, and it took me 145 hours to do both of them.

No, unless you REALLY take your time. A normal playthrough shouldn't take any longer than 70 hours or so, assuming you're not playing on the hardest difficulty or something.

Persona 5 took me 132 hours. But that was on hard, so I assume combat took a bit longer. I also would occasionally not fast travel and walk the city all natural like. Sometimes I'd have the main character go for walks around the city at night to clear his head, usually after a plot bombshell.

As for the same sex relationship thing, don't hold your breath. It's a pretty Japanese series so they may be a while on that front.

My main complaint is that if I wanted my main character to get with one of the ladies he had to be all like "I love you". I mean, c'mon. No need to be all mushy. Does she wanna bang Joker or not?
