This was awesome. Weren't there a few that were in the game but they never made any legal way to get them? I wanna say it was like a "forbidden five"?

Maybe. I know there were a few that were very hard if not impossible to get if they weren't your random first one, but I don't know if there were any that weren't even available that way. Punch-Out was one of them, I remember because my buddy got it and found out later how rare it was and he always brings it up when anyone mentions Animal Crossing.

No other Animal Crossing game had me hooked since that one. I must have put at least a thousand hours into it.

I remember the original game. There were a couple of animals in my village who'd been there from the start. One was a koala who would call me Sweet Pea, and the other was a bird who would go SCREEEEEE. I was ok with this arrangement, right up until the bird taught the koala to SCREEEEEE. I was displeased and stopped playing after that.

Legend of Zelda was completely impossible to get in all versions of the game without hacking. A few others were very difficult to get depending on the region.
