Clearly you haven't or you'd realise that what you're saying is in no way related to reality.

Parkinson's is a brain disorder - it is degenerative and irreversable. While medical marijuana can potentially help with symptom management and may be able to slow (note: not halt) the progression of the disease after it develops, there is no credible research anywhere that says that it can prevent the disease itself.

And even those benefits are largely anecdotal. From the Parkinson's foundation (http://parkinson.org/Understanding-Parkinsons/Treatment/Medical-Marijuana)

"Despite some promising preclinical findings, researchers have not found any meaningful or conclusive benefits of cannabis for people with PD."

Similarly, marijuana is mostly used for Alzheimer's for symptom management and slowing the progression of the disease; it has nothing to do with prevention.

Finally, the oft-stated "Weed cures cancer" study was done on rats, using injected THC. And while it slowed the growth of some tumours, it accelerated others, so "Weed causes cancer" would be just as valid of a response (and equally wrong).

The link you provided is an (unsearchable) report that's 118 pages wrong. You're correct that I'm not reading that just to settle an internet debate. If you want to source some data from that document, you'll have to point out where it is.

Outright states in this article "To be clear, smoking ganja every day is not linked with better mental health" and clarifies that the idea that mental diseases could be controlled or prevented is not supported by existing data, as much more research is noted.

Article about treating Alzheimers, has nothing to do with prevention. States at the bottom of the article there is no evidence that cannabis can help to prevent the underlying causes of the disease in people.

it can be done responsibly. as in not around them while some one else is taking care of them for you. as long as thats not a every day thing I wouldn't see the problem. my friend and his girl pretty much do this thing where they take turns. one time he is responsible for the kid. next time her, and they don't smoke around the kid. and once in awhile they let the grandparents have the kid for a day or two so they can smoke together.

alcohol makes you generally more impaired if you're even moderately intoxicated in my experience

if an emergency trip to the hospital is needed you can call an ambulance like you said.

lots of people drink after their kids go to sleep. they'd call an ambulance.

you can do the same under the influence of any other drug.

what if a parent has had too much cold medicine and they can't drive? it's all the umbrella of being under the influence. in emergency situations it doesn't really matter what is impairing you so that argument doesn't really fly.

well this thread was speaking of booze and weed. so thats what I stuck to. meds usually do have a warning about impairing the ability to operate machinery or something along those lines though if people would bother reading it
