only one out of 7 movies is actually award-worthy and beloved. even 5 and 6 have quite a few problems. 1-3 are horrid. 7 was good but essentially a remake of 4

It's definitely an overrated franchise if you go by the die hards because nothing can live up to the way they treat the franchise. But the OT and Disney movies are still pretty good at least.

Yes

Most of the praise about episodes 4-6 are the jaw dropping special effect visuals. It was one of the first space movies that was actually convincing since it was made in the 70s

1-3 is a CGI and scripting mess

Episode 7 is basically riding off fan service

No, not maybe, ESB is pretty widely regarded as the best in the series.

Only a select group like IV more, and those that do often like it as a single movie, rather than as part of a franchise.

it's one of things where it's greater than the sums of its parts
ESB is the only legitimately great film in the saga imo, but the rest of them are fun and the whole universe is pretty entertaining
