I mean, it's clear to me that one party is gunning for their heads, fucking up all their shit and the other party is neutral or slightly positive.

I understand not being excited for politics or whatever, but this is like.......your future financial stability and a lot of other things and it's going to be a very different world depending on the results.

So they have something to riot and protest during the remainder of the year.

The word 'politics' is derived from the word 'poli' meaning many, and the word 'ticks' meaning blood sucking parasites.

I'm not a millenial, so I can't speak for them, but my approach is I won't vote for any "alternative;" I only vote for the candidate I feel is best for the environment I reside in (be it my state, America, etc).

For example, I didn't vote for Trump, however I also didn't vote for Hillary just because she was "the necessary evil." Instead I simply wrote-in Bernie Sanders on my ballot even though he was not in the running once the Dems fixed his candidacy.

Voting for the alternative is no better than not voting at all imo. I don't expect folks to share my pov, but I don't care.

The youth always have trouble with voting numbers. This is nothing that's reflective of a specific generation

Because most political issues dont affect them the same way as full on working adults. Especially this generation of millenials that grew up during the best economy the US ever had (90's) and all the new entertainment it brought (game consoles, computers, smartphones). They dont know real hardship so they think things will stay more or less the same.

Sure, but this is the information age. We have more knowledge and resources available than ever before. It's so easy to know of the faults of previous generations. I expected each generation to be a little bit smarter than the one before it, and at younger ages.

It has nothing to do with smarts or knowledge. Young people tend to give less of a fuck about politics because 1) they're boring 2) they're complicated and 3) they're not important when you think you're invincible
