In theory anyway. As is, both parties are pretty much reacting to the other, taking turns ruining everything as super-majorities pop up.
The only mitigating factor in the whole deal is that the republicans are too busy hating each-other to competently ramrod much.

And as I've said from the first accusation, specifically the alleged force kiss and not the groping "picture evidence" that didn't even show him touching her, Franken needs to resign from office. From a strict political sense the party really isn't at risk of losing the seat and the refusal of the party to push him out from the start was a huge fuck up. Instead of embracing them like the right does, they had a chance to make a good statement from an optics point.

There was a photo for one. Other than that proof/evidence is not needed. All you need is an accusation. Once the media reports it there are two options protect someone accused of sexual assault or fire them and/or have them be forced to resign. No one wants to protect rapist or pedophiles that is why the sex offender registry while unconstitutional is still a thing. So his career is done.
