I do.

I also believe it's bullshit that the main reason people are against it is because of the potential violence worldwide from religous nutjobs.

Not recognizing it is not only letting terrorist win, it is also allowing the world to be taken hostage by a religion seeing as the fear isn't just about terrorist now.

I still don't understand why this is a thing. You can't choose what city to recognize as a capital. The term "capital city" isn't subjective. It has a pretty set definition, the location of a jurisdiction's seat of government. So either a city is the seat of a country's government and is thus the capital; or it isn't and thus is not the capital.

So wherever their seat of government is located (and it's Jerusalem) is their capital. You can't argue otherwise.

Yeah but with a massive metropolitan area like nyc, why the FUCK is new york's seat of government in fucking Albany?

Albany was actually a more significant industrial and commercial center in NY at the time it was made capital. The Erie Canal was built to basically serve as a commercial route to Albany. By the time NYC surpassed it, Albany had the capital for half a century or so. No reason to change it after that just for the sake of it.

If anything, in modern times, less things need to be in NYC. I sure as hell wish the U.N. headquarters would relocate somewhere else.

Because that's how it is. The biggest city is rarely the state's capital.

"Rarely"

Look up those statistics brah :P

"Sometimes" >_>

"Often but definitely not always"

most of the early US states had compromise capitals. DC is, too. Hell, Ohio built it's compromise capital from scratch.

Paragraph 1. Well obviously there is some merit. I didn't know, so what you say is interesting and informative. Good response. I had been wondering what the fuck Albany had to offer for years now having crazy relatives from that area :P

Paragraph 2... bro, not to Albany XD. I hear that high five man :P. (In all fairness thouf, I only know the tiniest part of an Albany suburb from family holidays but those said holidays... family talks that shit and they live there so I believe it but that's all I have so my shittalking is actually like dumb and basic... but I do think I'm right that area is shitty or at least I hope >_>)

Albany was chosen as the permanent capital because of its central location in the state. New York was larger than Albany by an order of magnitude even in 1790, and the Erie Canal was constructed to provide an easier way to ship goods from New York upstate and into the Great Lakes.

Palestine is a terrorist organization?

Doesn't their charter call for the genocide of all jews?

Should probably try reading it before you throw out accusations like that

Hamas, the twice elected party of Palestine, has a long, storied history of being openly anti-semitic. Their original charter DOES call for the eradication of Israel, but although they claim they no longer use the charter they can't change it "because reasons."

Hamas is also allied with Hezbollah, with the latter training the solders of the former. Their leader said the following:
If all the Jews gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of chasing them down around the world.

Not the Palestinian charter

I don't even understand how the US can decide what Israel's capital is.

Recognize, not decide.

Either way, why is it the concern if the US?

Because democrats can't decide if Palestinians are a peaceful people or easily incited.

Lol, that is pretty damn accurate.

Undoubtedly? Lmao, is that another way of saying super duper for reals guaranteed? That's a rather large assumption. In fact, we have no idea what perspective future nations, let alone individuals, will take regarding a very nuanced conflict that has been going on in a region that has been the stage for violent conflict for thousands of years.

You'd rather do something for the benefit of a group that willingly elected a terrorist organization as its leadership entity and who would openly engage in another Jewish holocaust if they could?

Jerusalem is a part of Israel and has been their capital for decades. This dumb game the rest of the world played in refusing to recognize that due generally to anti-Semitism should have ended a long time ago.
