Large pages, small writing, 1500 pages each with dense material.
On average I have 1 day off per week. How should I pace myself? Obviously I'll take my own notes in a notebook or laptop as I read. --- literally the jags ... Copied to Clipboard!

Obviously I'll take my own notes in a notebook or laptop as I read. this is a bit ridiculous. then you're going to have to read hundreds of pages of notes. if you read slowly and carefully you will remember a lot more than you might think. --- let's positive thinking ... Copied to Clipboard!

lol, yea good luck slowly reading and remembering 3 textbooks worth of stuff let alot even 1 chapter of 1 book. Realistically it'll stick to you short term but after a few months you wont remember that stuff. Only way to remember stuff truly for long term is repetition of the key concepts, like 4-5 times at least.

If you are reading slowly and actively reading, you get repeated exposure, importantly you are integrating material into a cohesive framework, which means you will constantly be recalling it everytime you remember the concept.
I still can remember the pages where certain information was from textbooks I read 8 years ago. --- =E[(x-E[x])(y-E[y])] ... Copied to Clipboard!

I mean, self testing is relatively more important than repetition, and active reading incorporates more self testing.
