You can view yourself and change yourself however you want. I will call you by the name and pronoun you want, but I won't consider you the gender you present yourself as if I am familiar with your history.

I imagine it must be extremely tough to live your life not feeling like you belong in the body you were born with. It must be very difficult, so I am happy to accommodate things like gender neutral terms that make practically no difference to me to try and do but possibly make a big difference to them being made to feel accepted.

Im supportive, and Ill use whatever pronoun somebody identifies with to refer to them, but I cant really relate. My gender is just... a thing, like my height, hair color etc. I wish I was slightly taller. Im not. Dont really get upset. I just live with it.

It just doesnt ruin my life to be who I happen to be. Am I a woman? Yes. Can I like man stuff anyway? Sure. Will someone object? Well, thats what I love about DGAF.

Too talked about these days. They are a very small group with a specific set of medical problems. All the politicing over it just makes narcissists jump on the train, mostly claiming falsely they too are trans, and gets people generally confused and angry for no reason. They are just people and 99% of this fairly unseen minority will be treated without anyone knowing.

1. Do your thing proudly.
2. Don't expect or demand people change for you as if it's their obligation. Realize as a very slim minority, that's about as much political point as you will affect.
3. Transwomen (m2f) are a kink of mine.
4. Non-binary trans is bullshit, I'm not using your fake pronoun and I'm not going to pander, but I'm not an asshole so see #1.
5. They deserve all rights afforded to all humans. Which includes marriage, civil service, bathroom of their gender, etc etc etc (This list isn't in any sort of order or this would be first)
6. If you're on daily medication/hormones, it precludes you from certain things, this is not because you are trans, it's because you have this daily liability.
7. Stop obfuscating the differences between gender and sex. It's stupid when your opponents do it, it's dumber when you do. The inconsistencies with terminology make the conversation divisive and toxic.
8. Find a real job.
9. Identity is the least important thing about anyone, including trans people, find a real hobby as well.

I can't say I think about them much. I can't personally relate to what they deal with, and I don't know enough about the subject to have an opinion on it that matters to anyone.

I've known a few over the years. One in particular definitely had an influence in my life, as I met two of my closest friends through her.

I don't grok it, but I give them the benefit of the doubt. Much of gender identity is steeped in sexism and social marketing about what being a man or woman "truly" is with regards to manner of dress and hobbies and therefore bullshit that I don't subscribe much to anyways.

But if being in possession of a "wrong" sexual organ and other biological markers is giving you severe anxiety and suicidal depression then I have no problem being in a collective insurance program with them to alleviate those symptoms, and think stuff like hormone therapy and surgery should be accessible options.

I'm relatively indifferent. They're people like you and I and should be treated with dignity and respect (i.e. "do unto others as you would have them do unto you"). I believe the decision to transition shouldn't be entered into lightly, especially at a young age, but that's for them, their families and the health professionals to work out.

as long as theyre not up in my face about it I dont mind, unlike some of the posters here.

I think they're people. As a future therapist, I'd help them attain happiness however way they seem open to with healthy results, and from what we currently know, the best way is to let them identify as whatever gender and live that life. If I meet a transwoman, I will treat her like a woman. If I meet a transman, I'll treat him like a man. Pretty fucking simple, and I don't get why people want to treat them any different by hiding behind this whole "Oh the DSM-V says they're delusional, so I'll throw hard truths* at them!". At that point you're being a dick just to say you're 'right' and not caring about someone else's well-being.

Makes a lot of sense that those types tend to also be ultra-religious, and in a bad way.
