My employer usually does the annual meetings in November, but they put them off until this week due to tax legislation. Got a 10% raise which is much higher than what I usually get, and the lower corporate tax rate next year is mostly to thank for it.

Would suck for my employer if the bill ends up falling through!

no because i'm a public unionized employee and school districts are underfunded as it is

well, I mean I do get an annual raise but it's all set under union rules so whatever's going on has nothing to do with it, unless there is a budget problem, in which case job cuts happen instead of raises being cut

No, raises aren't decided upon until March, when claims have more runout and emerging financial results are more accurate.
