How would you actually go about converting that into real money?

You can't. Literally no one can even cash out, which is precisely why no one does.

This. People saying they made thousands or whatever from bitcoin haven't actually because they haven't cashed it out and aren't able to even if they did. Lmao. Suckers.

The people on those bitcoin forums say just use several exchanges. But you will get a fee like 1% when pulling out. So if you pull out 1 million it is a 9,000 fee on Bitstamp

I didn't read the topic and neither did you. I quoted the OP. The next post basically corrected it. .09% of 1 million is $900 not $9000.

are there actually people buying millions of dollars of bitcoins?

just say you were lucky and bought 200 bitcoins 10 years ago for $5
how would you even sell those 200 bitcoins? someone obviously has to buy them, but nobody is buying 200 bitcoins
and then the price starts crashing and you cant find anyone to buy

Bitcoin is definitely a risk. I wouldn't invest any of my money into it.

It's a huge risk because everybody makes these topics about it rising and then dropping, rinse repeat. But nobody has actually made any ACTUAL money from it. (Magic Donut is the only one and it probably took him a couple of months just cash out most of it.)

It sells in chunks. So it will sell until the market value is below the ask price from the seller.

That's false. It's rather easy to cash out. You just sell the bitcoins you have, converting them into USD. The problems with cashing out happen during high traffic times prompted by big jumps or falls in the price of a coin. Most of the time, cashing out is very easy.
