Here's an idea, gratis, for the creative team behind of "Paw Patrol" and "Thomas," should they want to broaden their appeal to parents without alienating their fan base: Ryder and Sir Topham Hatt retire and are replaced by their equally domineering sisters. This, in turn, boosts the social status of all the non-male characters. Children would still get the satisfaction of immersing themselves in an orderly universe where rules are rules, and everyone is in his or her place. Just without the white guy on top.

The last paragraph is all that needs to be read. The rest of a the article is a setup for a demand for diversity for diversity's sake.
At the very least, the writer is professional enough to avoid singular-they.

When Al-Jazeera is a more credible outlet for American news than actual American news outlets, something has gone catastrophically wrong.

Al Jazeera has been more credible than American media in general for years now

Yes, but the point still stands. CNN, MSNBC, Foxnews, etc., have apparently forgotten the difference between news and opinion.

Newsmax is alright, I guess, if only it didn't collapse into just pointing a camera at a radio show for most of the day.

I miss the classic days of Headline News, where it was just news, then all over again fifteen minutes later.
As is, we get news, then three or four stuffy talking heads blathering about the news, for about an hour at a time.
