Your post - again - suggests that all accusations are automatically truth, and that evidence doesn't need to be collected or used against the accused. That whole website suggests that ONLY the accusation should be enough to bring about a conviction, and that the victim shouldn't have to testify, or even talk to the police.

That's literally arguing that the rules should be changed, and that convictions need to go up, evidence be damned.

Where did I suggest that at all? Show me where I suggested that. And show me where it says anything like what you said there on the website.

Your source literally equates accusations with rape. It literally states that all accusations must become a conviction, ignoring actual evidence, alibi of the victims, legal requirements, the law itself, and about a thousand other factors.

No, the bullshit here is he was failed by the justice system.

Your argument is essentially structured like this: "X happens a lot. However Y happens rarely, therefore don't fix X, we need to focus on Y". It's not only a bad sense of priority but it's a false dilemma to start with. Can't we fix both?

He was failed by the justice system because we need to automatically believe all rape accusations or we're "rape apologists."

I do sympathize with actual rape victims but I'll be damned if I'm going to fall on the sword via a false accusation for "the greater good" just because the falsely accused are the small minority... You can fuck right off with that one.

Probably much much less than women who never came forward after being raped.

Problem is there is a extremely high chance of debilitating social and professional fallout from the mere accusations. You dont need to go to prison to have your life ruined.

Jobs have been very eager to fire people who have been accused and not uncommon for colleges to expel people. Usually after a very one sided investigation not even involving actual cops which gives the man no chance and is hilariously incompetent.

Not to mention the shunning, why were you fired from your last job question at interviews, the stress of legal proceedings/social fallout alone could tank relationships and excaberate existing problems(recovering alcoholic for example) or cause new ones.

The problem with our views on sex offenses socially we are adopting a guilty until proven innocent stance and that we are treating any offense as the highest order of evil regardless of what and when. There is a world of difference between slapping a butt at a party 30 years ago and knocking someone out and raping them yesterday.

Legally speaking the draconian way it is set up often destroys your entire life for the most minor of offenses and marks you for life.

The way we do things just doesnt make sense.

My stance on a rape victim is the same as a customer who wants to make a return or complaint.

Listen and pay attention so you can see if they are bullshitting you or not. You dont automatically believe them but automatically dismissing them is also bad.

Get the fucking facts. You do not believe or disbelieve until you get information.
