It's gacha, but feels more like a high quality, paid handheld-type game with gacha elements. Items are thrown at you and are easy to replenish, builds are diverse and there's plenty of characters to mix and match your party with. All with great art, good music, and an interesting story. Each character has their own VA, their own personality, and their own sidequest (sometimes more than one). The game receives constant updates with various gacha changes, celebrations, and events (this month, example, there's 3 story events and 2 combat ones, one of which is Guild Wars/PvP). There's also a fun community aspect where there are raid fights, co-op quests, and guilds (crews).

I tried it, played for a few hours, 3-4 maybe? game was ok, extremely mind numbing though, but hey at least they know their game is like that since it has an auto-battle function!

I decided to use my gems or w/e to pull since i though i made a decent amount.

3-4 hours was worth 1 pull and i got jack shit, gacha is fucking garbage and i'm not touching that thing again.

Only good thing GBF has is that the character designs is by part of the team that made bravely default/second, and the music is great, and good thing about that is that you can find both of them online without actually having to touch this crap.

yeah if gacha style games aren't your thing, then there's no turning you. All i can say is that part of why I find the game fun is that the gacha part isn't as important as other stuff. You can dump thousands of dollars but if you don't grind for a grid of weapons your damage sucks. I guess this is more than one point but also they give out so much free currency for gacha draws it's kinda insane. I have like ~$1000 in spendable currency saved for gacha rolls solely acquired in game (i'm a F2P player)

It's honestly a fantastic decompression game, like an idle/clicker game.

As for my rolls this event so far, it's actually kinda ridiculous i've been popping off with at least one SSR a day since legfest.

It's worth bragging about being a quality game. If you don't like gacha, that's dandy, but it isn't an objectively bad system.

Anyway it's a fun game that doesn't require money to be spent and has amusing writing. Still you mention any form of microtransactions and it brings out the worst in people.

Not even truth. You guys really need to chill with putting assumptions about entire genres, it's silly. ~_~ More like...~20% gacha, 2% advertising, 78% gameplay.

Know what I did yesterday in it? Did the main story island, caught up on side quests, of which I had like... 30. Made a few ranks. Leveled up some of my main team. During my crew's raid hour I hosted and joined raids, got good materials and exp, did the daily 5 raid missions for the current story event and got shit from that as well. When I just felt like idling around I played some poker. And still there are plenty of things I can be doing instead. Working on co-op, doing Fate episodes of my characters, doing story quests which are past events that have been permanently put into the game, working on my fire team for the upcoming Guild Wars, doing showdown raids while they're around, focus more on uncapping levels of my characters. There's also this Arcanum/PvE tournament thing but I don't have that unlocked yet.

"Leana, those quests and raids take stamina. Everyone knows you quickly run out in those games." Yes, AP and EP (for joining raids) are used, but they're plentiful. AP, I currently have 881/64. EP I have 59. There are items that refresh them as well. 1/2 Elixirs give 50 AP (I have 337 of them). Soul berries give 1 EP (have 955), balms give 5 (only 3). I haven't used any of those items at all yet and they're easily purchased with game currency, dropped, or traded.

Granblue is generous AF and there's no reason to spend money on anything at all unless you legit just have a gacha addiction problem.

Still, the genre is built around making the game a part of your daily schedule rather than an actual game you play on your own terms with daily login bonuses (usually you get extra for a streak of daily logins) and the stamina system, and then using that spot in your schedule to tempt you into spending real money with ads for all the sweet campaigns and cool new items and etc plastered all over the menus.

There are tons of other games you could play that actually respect you as a player and your time and your money and etc

They do post the drop rates for each character/weapon/summon for every event. Plus what's nice is if you do all the optional tutorial stuff on the pin board they give you a draw for a guaranteed low rate draw.

Yeah its the JP stuff with english translation.

I just found the "gameplay" mind numbing since early on you can just auto battle, while that doesn't show the actual gameplay of the game (plays like a pseudo JRPG), having to drag your ass through god knows how many fucking missions just to get to the "current" content is awful...

I mean sure you can just recruit any of those 140+ friend summons and end every fight in 1 turn but that doesn't help the case...

A great game if you have a phone/tablet and have literally nothing else more interesting to do though.

on FFBE they recently upgraded the 5* unit rate 3x of the original rate.
however GL server never actually disclosed the actual rate of the gacha drop rate. people just assumed that it was 1%. so it's probably 3% now.
