That's kinda weird

I was thinking about that too, but I feel like it's a separate enough entry

in the show, the Angriest Boy was an actual book character that Shadow King brought to life to torture David so it does at least exist on it's own

Legion spoilers

My take away from it was the entire thing was a construction of the shadow king. His dad never actually read him that book, because it didn't actually exist. It was all distorted by the king.

The character also has 0 substance outside of the king, except I guess his appearance. Which is a weird reason to put him in this contest imo.

It's surprising, but if I'm being honest, the characters weren't exactly what I like about Get Out. Like I couldn't remember a single one by name. It's a great movie, but more for the great writing and directing

Surprised how many Strong Woman nominations there are. I mean she was funny but also a pretty minor character

Also surprising to see so much Bob Newby support. When Stranger Things was originally eligible, literally only Eleven made it in, and I think she lost first round. Even based on just S2 Max was the more interesting character imo, and she didn't get a single nom

The way I see it, it's kind of like

(Bioshock Infinite spoilers)
I would count Booker and Comstock as separate characters, even if they're technically the same guy, because throughout the game they're presented as separate people until the reveal. Lenny and her identities were the same way, it was only at the end that it was revealed King and Angriest Boy and the man with Yellow Eyes are the same but they still act differently and have different effects on David

yes, but its all facets of the same character. Part of what makes the shadow king such a great villian is how greatly and diversely his grip on David's mind affects him. Splitting the characters just cheapens his overall impact

I was really surprised at how good a character Bob ended up being. He's not the type of character you'd expect to save the day but he really pulls through for the end. I liked his subtle contrasting with Hopper as well in terms of romance with Joyce and other facets.

Max on the other hand felt dull and predictable.

Unfortunately it was super obvious from the beginning that he would be killed off for needless drama. His death wasn't anywhere near as impactful (or necessary) as something like Barb's, which changed the whole tone of the show. Bob dying just...happened, and then he was forgotten.

Yeah I agree with this, as soon as he was introduced I saw him and just thought "this guy's gonna die". I mean I liked him but I'll pretty much have forgotten about him by this time next year

I liked Bob. And I don't feel that He was forgotten at all. Especially since Mike brings him up. If anything, I felt his death had more impact than Barb's. Barb was... Nancy's friend, and that's all I really remember about her. I don't think any of the rest of the main cast (aside from Jonathan and Steve) even really met Barb. Bob on the other hand was good with electronics, started the original AV club, was 'uncool' dad who ended up actually being pretty cool. He gave Will some well-intentioned but bad advice. And he ended up being really brave. Not to mention he's played by Sean Astin, which helps a lot.
