Basically but instead of catching Pokemon...you just punch people who are racist or who promote violence on innocent people.

Freedom of speech means the government cant do anything to you....doesnt stop a good citizen from knocking some sense into you or just knocking you out.

That doesn't make you a good citizen. It makes you a useful idiot.

Antifa are useful idiots. When a free society has rules to prevent the people in power from abusing that power outright, the most effective circumvention is to divide the people and convince them to do what you want for you.

Government can't legally censor you, but a pack of self-righteous, head-up-their-own-ass rabid citizens can. Can't legally use violence against political opponents? Convince the people they will be unquestionably justified in doing it for you. "I'll be on the right side of history! I cant possibly not be in the right, because I'm not those other people" is a hell of a drug. Road to hell, good intentions and all that.

This kind of thing never ends well.

I'm not. You want very badly for me to be defending Nazis, because otherwise your position falls fucking hard on its face. As Antifa has demonstrated themselves, they're more than happy to incorrectly label all opposition as "The Nazis!" in order to justify being awful human beings to anyone who doesn't agree with them.

You're doing it right now. I don't like Antifa? Well I must just be some Nazi sympathizer, disregard the criticism and reinsert your head up your ass, taking a nice big whiff as you do.

I give a fuck about the Constitution and the rule of law. You can't have Nazis and commies fighting it out in the streets.

Constitution was literally written by dudes who kept slaves. It's not some perfect document lmao.

The same part of the Constitution that prevents you from being locked up for typing this allows that guy to be a jackass with his Nazi arm band.

Or do you only think the first amendment applies to you and ideas that you like

Me saying fuck Nazis isn't the same as advocating genocide for others, what do you not fucking get?

Guess what, it doesn't matter if it's the same. You don't get to decide who the first amendment protects from getting punched in the face. What do you not fucking get?

K well I just got to this point in the topic, but the first amendment definitely has nothing to do with who is allowed to be punched in the face. It's about not letting the government punish people for speaking their mind. When did the cops come and arrest those Nazis for saying shit?

Oh wait they didn't? Oh okay, so really what you're arguing for is stricter assault laws. Stop talking about all this political crap if you're really just mad about violence. Every single day, people get into fights about anything. There is sooo much violence against good normal people for no reason, but you have to get mad at the people punching Nazis.

If any of these guys defending Nazis have a history of also defending trans people who get hurt after a date when someone finds out they are trans, or they're out protesting UFC fighting, or whatever, then I guess defending Nazis is just trying to be fair, but I haven't seen anything like that at all.

The government is not only unable to lock you up for your political thoughts but it is also obligated to protect your right to express your shitty political opinions without fear of being assaulted. The first amendment of the Constitution very much impacts punching Nazis in the face.

Okay, show me where in the first amendment says anything about being obligated to defend you from being assaulted.

Go ahead, I'll wait. : 3

Just because you feel like it should be so, doesn't mean it is. >< And I'm definitely an anti-violence person, in almost every single situation you would see me defending anybody being attacked.

No one on this board has actually defended people who beat up others for being trans so yes obviously there is little reasonnto speak out against it.

Unlike the psychos who think it's ok to assault people for being mean, which there's no shortage of whatsoever.
