It shouldn't matter to anyone who someone is attracted to or who someone sleeps with. But I just have a hard time seeing how a person who willingly (and especially continuously) sleeps with someone of the same gender is considered straight. Personally, I'm about as straight as a slinky, so the thought of sleeping with a woman never even crosses my mind. If that ever happens for whatever reason, I know I wouldn't try to convince myself that I'm straight or bi, but it's just not anything I'd willingly do in the first place. I guess that's just something that varies from person to person.

Look at it like this: imagine a number line. Imagine 10 is fully straight and 1 is fully gay. Most people don't completely fall into either 1 or 10. Nobody's jumping through hoops at all; things just work that way.

Also, for categorical purposes, you can still call yourself straight or gay if you happen to sit at like 1.25 or 9.25 on the imaginary number line.

It's not even that far, they're denouncing being called bi. Given that gays also frequently criticize bisexuals as "fencesitters," the article's context is even more egregious.
