http://thehill.com/policy/technology/367929-senate-bill-to-reverse-net-neutrality-repeal-wins-30th-co-sponsor-ensuring

A Senate bill that would reverse the Federal Communications Commissions (FCC) decision to repeal net neutrality received its 30th co-sponsor on Monday, ensuring it will receive a vote on the Senate floor.

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) announced her support for the bill on Twitter, putting it over the top of a procedural requirement to bypass committee approval.

The bill, which is being pushed by Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.), would use Congresss authority under the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to reverse the FCCs rollback of its popular net neutrality rules.

....

Todays news shows that lawmakers from both parties cannot hide from their constituents on this issue, said Evan Greer, an activist with the group Fight for the Future, which has promised to rally voters around the issue in the midterm elections. Every member of the U.S. Senate will have to go on the record, during a tight election year, and either vote to save the Internet or rubber stamp its death warrant.

I mean...it is the job of congress to legislate since they are in the...legislative branch

and the job of the FCC to execute those legislations since they are....the executive branch

sounds good to me. It's about time congress grew some balls and actually did their jobs instead of allowing a bloated ex. branch to continue to bloat on their own accord. Let it be done by congress, then if we don't like it, we vote they asses out

The main problem with the sentence is it insinuates Republicans have admitted they're likely to face major losses this year.

If they cared, they should outright legislate exactly what they want the FCC to regulate, instead of this unconstitutional practice.

No such thing as balls in congress, only votes.

Except this legislation doesn't define net neutrality, or list infractions. All it does is tell the FCC to reinstate what they've undone, which wasn't based on legislation in the first place.

I mean, even if the previous rules weren't based on legislation (which doesn't even make the rules illegal anyway last I checked), if this bill passes then it would be based on legislation. So...

Well, thats nice and all but no republicans give any fucks about Americans so they'll be sure to kill it. It could mean a public execution for them and they'd still be all for it. I imagine scalise, paul ryan and cruz are already going to lose their seats since they came out against Net Neutrality, but Im not very optimistic about small victories like those.

Yeah I can't really see Republicans supporting Net Neutrality so it's still going to be dead in the waters.

I was on the fence with NN. Both the right and left (ignoring the stupid idiots, the right with the ITS OBAMA IT MUST BE BAD and the left ITS TRUMP HES TRYING TO KILL US) had good arguments

I think it's too early to really see any difference, honestly. But with how much of the one side really was saying that we will have instantaneously fuckery, while only the opposite has happened to me on my end (Comcast increased my speeds).. right now there is a slight edge to the right. But again, too early
