It's fine, but I guess I expected more improvements? Stuff like Navi no longer repeating alerts or Kaepora Gaebora having dialogue repeat cues that don't change the question constantly. I know the big change is with equipping boots, so maybe I'm just not far enough to appreciate that, but it's weird they wouldn't change those other things that were common complaints about the game.

And the ocarina, the fucking ocarina. Who thought up of this button mapping? I can think of three different alternative ways they could have mapped it that would have made a lot more sense.

Oh, I forgot to mention the graphics as well. Some of them look quite nice but some look really muddy. Take the treasure chests, for example. Those look like low-res shit despite being one of the things they gave an entirely new texture.

I was happy with it when it came out.

The saving also is stupid. You still go back to Kokiri Forest no matter where you save outside of a dungeon? That's lame, especially for a portable game. I guess you're just supposed to suspend it, but it would be better if it just saved in your current location.

I don't remember this. But I also never turned it off while I was playing. Just sleep mode constantly.

I liked it and didn't have any complaints when I played it years ago now when it came out. I played it on an original 3ds as well, haven't popped it in my new 3ds xl yet.

I think it was like that in the N64 version, as well.

It was.

All my complaints are so minor that I might as well not have any, but I question whether it's really a big improvement over the N64 original. OoT isn't the type of game that screams portable to me, but graphical improvements were very much needed, so this is the only (official) way I can get them for now. But it comes at the cost of not having TV play and using a much more uncomfortable controller. If we get the speculated Switch remaster, that would be awesome - a true definitive version that's the best of both worlds.

Yes, I know, hence my use of the word "still"

The biggest problem with it in my opinion was the animations. All of Link's animations look weird af.

As far as graphics goes, it was one of the first 3DS games so you couldn't expect too much.

More uncomfortable than the N64 controller??

N64 controller is super comfortable to me.. original 3ds not so much. My new 3ds xl is comfy tho.

Why not?

I think I'd only buy it under certain conditions, but it wouldn't really hurt anything by existing. Well, it might be at the expense of a Skyward Sword remaster instead, but I'm not convinced people are willing to give that a second chance anyway.

Jesus, for sure. The N64 controller sucks, but it's light. The 3DS isn't super heavy or anything, but you're holding the system while you play. I find it uncomfortable - my New 3DS XL at least, but I haven't used other models.

I don't think anyone has ever thought the N64 controller was uncomfortable, except maybe its really cheap feeling joystick. The issue with it was always that the three prong design made it unfeasible to have access to both the D pad/L button and the joystick/Z button at the same time.

I'd rather go 5-6 more years without another Zelda game, even if it meant the Switch didn't get one >_>

I don't feel like anything would be gained by remaking it again. 50% for me not really caring for OoT, and 50% just tired of all the remakes and re-releases these days.
