Did you already spend the 100 free tokens you got today? I mean, that's only a marginal help -- the skins are still pretty fugly and nothing you'd switch out GOATs like Wujing, Bajie, etc. for. Overwatch has some brass orbs to charge $5 per skin, though.

The other skins are free, though some are seasonal. You're not really missing out by ignoring these skins, honestly -- they're mostly palette swaps in weird colors with team logos slapped on somewhere. A few look kinda cool for the gaudiness (Shanghai Orisa?) but most don't.

The wording I saw was that "some" of the "proceeds" go to the teams. So I'd imagine it's far less than half.

The Seoul and Optic skins look really nice.

I couldn't care less about supporting the teams. I've never followed any game's pro league, and I'm not gonna start anytime soon. Their skins just have some color schemes I find particularly appealing, unlike the majority of the other skins.

It's just kind of dumb to me that other games I play implement shit like this way better, and usually way cheaper. Just to get 1 skin a piece for the handful of characters I play I'd be spending more than I paid for the game itself. That's utterly ridiculous for a recolor with a logo added.

So lower Blizzard's cut, lower the team's cut and give them their own revenue instead of pooling it, make actual team gear, sell skin packs that give you every <team name> skin for $X with that team getting a bigger cut, make a gofundme, there's dozens of ways you could make it "financially viable" without charging people $5 for a simple recolor and giving the teams the same/more money.

I'm not an "I have to own everything" person by any means, but if I want some simple recolors that I think look good, I shouldn't have to shell out $25-30, especially when the game itself costs $40, just to make something I don't care about "financially viable". If you guys want to spend that, by all means go ahead, but imo this is literally a shittier version of the Horse Armor DLC. With all that said, if they were reasonably priced, I'd probably still buy some, but I'm sure they won't change the price because some dude at Blizzard with a Bachelor's degree punched some numbers into a computer and it lit up a giant neon sign saying "WHALES GIVE US MORE MONEY THAN THE AVERAGE CONSUMER SO MAKE EVERYTHING COST 10X WHAT IT SHOULD WITH NO OTHER AVENUES OF ACCESS."

A full set costs $99, which is in line (if not a little cheaper) with what a sports jersey costs. I imagine that has something to do with the pricing scheme for this. Jerseys also have high margins. If they are trying to make it seem like a real league they are not too far from it in terms of pricing at least.

I can't imagine I'd buy any of these though. Maybe if there was a Pittsburgh team though...

I said they're simple and they are. Let's have a quick comparison, oh look they just changed most of the colors to black and a few to green. Might as well be charging $5 for a skin on Minecraft.
