I ordered one the day after Christmas and was checking it's tracking status every day. The game that came with it (BotW) arrived last week, but the system's tracking number kept saying "ready to ship," so I called support. They said the console got lost or something and that they'd send me a new one.

The new one got here Monday, but I just had UPS stop by today and drop off the original one I ordered. Am I supposed to return it to GameStop or... did I just get a free Wii U?

I've heard a similar story recently over a different product. Looks like you got a free one.

I mean, when it comes to morals, it's hard to feel bad about ripping off GameStop. Hell, they're only offering a $50 trade in on the system anyway.

I paid for the system and game in their entirety with Christmas gift cards, so I wouldn't have to worry about them charging my credit card or anything if they did find out.

Not only are you screwing over gamestop, you're also screwing over their insurance company. That's like two for the price of one!

Literally, in your case

I was thinking about returning the one I got today with the game, getting my ~$140 back, and putting it towards a Switch. I have an extra PS4 we don't really use and they're offering an extra $50 trade in, so that should pretty much cover the cost.

I have even less sympathy for insurance companies tbh.

Same thing happened to me with Amazon when I ordered a PS3 back then. Amazon simply just takes the loss because to them customer service is their top priority. Plus Amazon also keeps track of my orders to make sure they're not getting scammed.

All Amazon ever accidentally sent me was a Bette Davis DVD collection -_-
Never knew what to do with it, so it's still sitting around unopened somewhere
