Apparently the current cree leader feels they are being misrepresented by hollywood again. It's not in this article but on the steam forums someone said the cree were gonna sue. What do you all think of this?

like the first comment says, civ isn't a historical simulation, it doesn't really portray *anyone* accurately, that's the point of the game.

if he wants a more accurate representation, he should look at EU4 where first nations get to sit around north america doing almost nothing for like a century before europeans show up and kick their asses.

As someone who even has Cree background, I agree. I had to sit through a 3 hour presentation from a FNMI leader talking about how the Native people aren't getting enough grants and reparations from the government. He kept citing the treaties.

I went home and read the treaty that evening. It literally only entitles them to the reserve land (which they have) and $5 per year (which they are still, to this day, are given). The guy needed to stfu.

Fuck, if anyone wants to hear a bad joke gone too far, google what benefits Natives in Canada get, how much they squander, and the "Idle No More" movement.

TLDR: Idle No More was a bunch of natives that wasted millions and were busted by an audit that couldn't explain where it went - while they were demanding even more money from us for nothing.
