19 y/o Diana Durkin, a Texas College Student was questioned by TSA at airport security checkpoint after she made a FINGER GUN SALUTE and was accused of being a TERRORIST!!

She explained to officers at Hobby Airport in Houston that it was merely her school's symbolic sign that she performs whenever she saw a fellow Texas Tech University out and about.

But TSA still interrogated her despite her seemingly innocent actions being misinterpreted as a sinister sign that landed her in hot water

An officer saw her using the sign and immediately pulled her aside and Diana tweeted about the experience..

She said "In the airport security line and i see someone wearing a Texas Tech hoodie and i look at them and do the gun hand signal because wreck em amiright. tsa is now pulling me aside to talk to me. I love Texas Tech. I love the people, i love the school. Anytime i see someone i get really excited."

The agent asked her "What are you doing? You can't do that in an airport!"

Diana then got a pat down and full body screening and says "Oh my gosh, they think i'm a terrorist...Oh my gosh i'm going to jail..i'm just sitting there, almost in tears, like No i'm just really dumb. i'm not a terrorist"

They eventually let her out with a warning and attempted to reassure them she learned her lesson.

Then she went to facebook and realized that had she been AFRICAN AMERICAN she would have faced harsher treatment and ADMITS that being white saved her from that kind of treatment and wrote

"I am very lucky the situation was not worse. I do recognize that people of colour are treated unfairly in situations like this and that racism and profiling is an epidemic in America that i do not condone or endorse. I am a huge advocate for BLACK LIVES MATTER, and for MINORITY DISCRIMINATION awareness. I think there is something very wrong with the fact that people of colour in my position would have had to fear for their lives and i did not face the kind of threat they receive on a daily basis because of my race. Our country needs to change. I am truly sorry for anyone that is offended by my story. I don't know that more to say about this situation, except for apologize that our Country is in a turmulous state that it's in. I was not paying attention at all when i did this, it was a habit of a girl who loves her school. Please stop coming on my social media accounts and bashing me for this!! i just wanted this to be a funny story people would laugh at".

Is Diana right that had she been anything else but white, she would have gotten harsher treatment?

1. The fact that she was checked indicates that white privilege has absolutely nothing to do with this.

2. Given how minor that gesture is, it's far more likely she was screened for a pat down by some horny af guard.
