As for what counts as a jrpg, lets keep it as traditional as possible. That means turn based battles and menu systems. I felt like they were a little too close to the action side. This made it even tougher. I feel like I may be forgetting some games, but here we go: 1. Breath of Fire 3 2. Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door 3. Pokemon Yellow 4. Grandia 2 5. Suikoden 6. Phantasy Star 2 7. Xenosaga 8. Trails in the Sky 9. Lufia 10. Legend of Dragoon There are a lot of notables I havent played that I feel would immediately go into the top 10, Suikoden 2, Earthbound, Phantasy Star 4 ect. For comparison here is my top 10 jrpgs not including any of these restrictions: 1: Chrono Trigger 2. Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Dark Souls 4. Final Fantasy Tactics 5. Final Fantasy IX 6. Final Fantasy VI 7. Chrono Cross 8. Breath of Fire 3 9. Xenogears 10. I dunno if I can put them in order, but here are some that come to mind: - At least one, probably several, of the Mario RPG series. - At least one, probably several, of the Pokmon series. - I honestly kinda liked Golden Sun 2. - Lufia 2 was pretty neat. - Haven't played a lot of recent JRPGs, some of them might be nice. - There's this dating sim/JRPG for the GBA that had some fun mechanics, but ultimately I didn't really enjoy the dating sim elements or the inability to backtrack in it. --- Everything has an end, except for the sausage.
