i mean, pop definitely figured things out better this year, but it you count LMA this year as win for him you have to consider LMA a loss for him the last two

the fact that brad got the max out of al immediately is a point to his credit - it's not something you can take for granted even among elite coaches

and they were still the second best team last year despite Aldridge and Kawhi never really figuring out how to play together, and they're going to win 50 games yet again this year despite their best player missing nearly the entire season so far

the real test for Stevens will be trying to re-integrate Hayward back into all of that

Ainge turned Rondo, Bradley, Green, Marcus Thornton, Ante Zizic and a draft pick into Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward, Marcus Morris, a mid-first rounder and a probable high lottery pick (the Memphis pick is protected top 8 in 2019, then top 6, then unprotected, and they'll have almost no significant talent under contract after 2019, except for Conley, who will be making $30+ mil a year)

(And that's not even counting trading down from 1 to 3 to get another lottery pick for nothing, either the Lakers this year or the Kings next year)

Meanwhile every player he traded/avoided - Crowder, Thomas, Green, Bradley, Rondo, Fultz, Labissier, were almost all non-entities immediately after being traded. Rondo's stock has bounced back some in New Orleans, but this is his 4th stop in as many seasons.

It's almost uncanny how all the players Ainge has traded have turned into pumpkins as soon as they were on other squads.
