Do you think if someone is Anti-Gay, that makes them a bad person?

The University of Iowa is in a legal fight with a kooky Conservative Christian student group after they denied a leadership position to a student who was GAY!!

It pits the policy barring discrimination based on sexual orientation against the religious whackos in a 10 member group called Business Leders in Christ.

They sued after the University revoked its campus registration and booted them off campus

They said the membership is open to everyone but its leaders must affir a statement of faith that REJECTS HOMOSEXUALITY. The university respects the right of students and staff to practice the religion of their choice but doesn't tolerate discrimination

It was founded by students at the Tippie College of Business who had weekly Bible studies to memtor students on "how to keep Christ first in the fast paced business world". They can no longer reserve campus space meeting space for their evil organization and student recruitment to access funds from student activity fees

Marcus Miller was the student who filed the complaint against them when they denied his request to serve as VP and it was rejected when he said he was gay.

The group said they rejected him cause they have to set an example that Gay Relationships are a SIN and WRONG and to "embrace, not reject, their God-given sex" and to support the idea that marriage can ONLY be a man and woman. They said "Every other sexual relationship beyond this is outside of God's design and it is not in keeping with God's original plan for humanity.".

The Conservative group's lawyer said they have a right to choose a leader who shares their beliefs as he said "You would never ask an environment group to have a climate denier as their leader, it's the same thing here"

The university said every on campus group must guarantee an equal opportunity and equal access to membership as it acknowledges this weighs the compelling interest of religious freedom vs equality.

Marcus has since started his own organization, Jesus-centred group called Love Works, to advocate for LGBTQ

If someone is anti-gay, does that make them a bad person? let's see what people think

He makes me want to punch him in the face, if I were to do it I'd probably be labelled a homophobe.

I don't know if they would have to necessarily be a bad person. But I wouldn't be friends with them. Or feel comfortable around them.

No. I'm not one of those who sling words around just because someone has a different view than what society says is correct. Although I won't agree with said person who is "homophobic", "racist", "bigoted" and so on I respect their right to have a opinion providing it causes no harm to others. This doesn't mean these folk are bad people either. It takes more than opinions to make a bad person.

Given the premise, it's a pretty safe bet that the kid was trying to troll them. Honestly, it's no different than if an anti-LGBT tried to lead a LBGT group.
