I can actually see the logic here.

The defense for guns is not (on paper) that "Guns are so kewl u gais!" it's that they are great for self-defense.

An 11 year old girl with a gun could beat prime Mike Tyson in a fight 9/10 times if she had a loaded gun.

But a sword? That's just potentially dangerous. See the knife-crime epidemic in the UK.

An 11 year old girl with a Katana still gets her ass kicked by Mike Tyson 9/10 times and in several of those fights she ends up hurting herself.

Its also a more aggressive weapon. I mean in theory you could conceal a knife or a dagger, but you can't conceal a sword. So you're walking around plainly armed which is asking for trouble.

swords aren't an aggressive weapon anymore than a gun is, it's bullshit that swords can't be carried, but whatever, we all know the reason, swords don't have a powerful money fueled lobby making politicians their bitches. Swords are decorations and relics of the past, there's no reason for anybody ever to be scared of a swordsmen in the modern world.

You'd say this:

27b1SKY

Is equally as aggressive as this:

howqNwE

I call bullshit.

I know you're a contarian but come on.

And that's before you get into the self-defense part of the equation.

Because a good majority of the US on both sides of the argument realize how stupid holding a sword looks in the 21st century. So, we did away with it for the good of everybody.

Of course it isnt equal. You picked a picture of someone who looks mentally unstable mid swing and then juxtaposed it with a picture of an attractive woman with the weapon half concealed.

I even agree that swords would look more aggressive due to them being harder to conceal, but come on dude...

with the weapon half concealed.

That's literally the point though

You can conceal a firearm, you can't conceal a sword. A knife or a dagger maybe but not a sword

That makes it more aggressive by default

You absolutely can conceal a sword. Its just much harder to do so.

if it's cause swords are big and hard to conceal, then what about in those open carry states that let you sling a big ass rifle across your shoulder? why can't you carry a sword there?

it's that they are great for self-defense.

if people had japanese made swords automatic guns would be no threat, with proper training they can easily deflect ranged bullet fire which is predictable.
