I had a customer come into my bank espousing some sort of crypto that sounded very much like a ponzi scheme. It involved referring people and getting coins for it. The website was really barebones and sketchy. Just reeked of scam-coin. He tried to get me to join but looking back I wish I made more of an effort to talk him out of it.

I use Coin Stats. I really like the interface and features. After a certain amount of time if your portfolio is > $5000 it will force you to buy the premium edition. But you can just delete and redownload to reset that time frame and your portfolio data will still be there.

Yeah, the tl;dr you are responsible for a node that people go through when validating transactions. That responsibility requires certain up-time commitments, like making sure the node is online 24/7. This means electricity costs, internet bandwidth costs, etc. Your reward is a portion of the traffic that flows through your node.

To host a master node you need to have the full amount of coins they ask for, and you need to lock them away for the lifetime of the node. So if you were to drop $30,000 on a master node, you'd need to make damn sure that you'll get that money back sometime soon. With crypto, though, it's a high probability that you won't.

Right. Any crypto can tank. But at least this one grants passive income. Thats what Im happy about. Im not sure what waiting a year has anything to do with the fact Im earning it now and can freely do what I want with it as I please.

If youre referring to the 10,000 ALQO locked into the MN then thats no different than the money invested in any crypto, such as the 10,000 REQ I also have. The fact it can dwindle or crash is obvious. In the mean time I will continue to be excited about my extra cash. :D

Also it doesnt cost me electricity or upkeep since I opted for a third party virtual server. It cost $40 for a year. So one day of noding paid for that and more.

Dont let Proudclad discourage you from mns. In any investment you should be investing in something thats giving you value.

Stock? You should be investing in stocks that gives dividends.

Crypto? You should be putting your money in coins that stake and have MNs.

What coins were the ones that was not hit hard in the dip? Coins that had MNs and coins that staked.

Its crypto yeah your money can become 0, that doesnt matter because you knew the game before you went in. Why would you not try to offset as much risk as possible especially in crypto?

And if the payout drops drastically all of a sudden? Did you earn back the amount of money you put in so far?

A PIVX master node costs like...$100,000 right now but it only generates like $5,000 a year.

PIVX master nodes cost $100,000 and only generate $5,000 a year. If you bought in when it was half the current price for a PIVX master node, you'd still need to wait 10 years to get your money back.

Also, I don't intend to discourage someone from a master node. They can be awesome, and I'll be buying a few of the lesser known master nodes today. The point is that you should be very cautious and conservative. Just because you're getting a lot of gains in the first month doesn't mean you'll make your money back or earn a profit.
